Sentosa Assemblyman, Wilfred Yap together with officers from Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan, officiated at the handover ceremony by Syarikat Langit Cerah (Contractor) for the completed RTP 2025 project involving the construction of a new parking area at Lorong 1, in front of Dewan and Surau Al-Mukhlis, Kampung Stutong Melayu, as well as the installation of safety handrails, with a total project cost of RM100,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The completed project was implemented under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) 2025 to improve convenience, safety, and accessibility for residents and visitors attending activities and events at the community hall and surau.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking during the handover ceremony, Yap said the additional parking spaces would greatly help ease congestion and traffic difficulties, especially during community programmes, religious gatherings, weddings, festive celebrations, and other large-scale events frequently held at the venue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe completion of this project brings direct benefits to the people of Kampung Stutong Melayu. The new parking area will provide greater convenience for residents and visitors while the installation of safety handrails enhances public safety, particularly for the elderly, children, and those attending events at night or during bad weather conditions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yap added that the project reflects the continuous commitment of the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Government in delivering practical grassroots development projects that directly improve the daily lives of the rakyat regardless of race or religion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He also expressed appreciation to the officers and engineering team from Majlis Bandaraya Kuching Selatan, village leaders, and local residents for their cooperation in ensuring the smooth implementation and successful completion of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe GPS Government under the leadership of the Premier of Sarawak will continue to prioritise inclusive development and ensure that no community is left behind. Development is not only about big projects, but also about improving the everyday needs and safety of the people at the grassroots level,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
