Kota Sentosa State Assemblyman Wilfred Yap officiated the Christmas and upcoming New Year 2026 celebration at Kampung Stampin Baru, stressing that unity, harmony and inclusive development remain the foundation of Sarawak continued progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yap said the celebration was more than a festive gathering, describing it as a reflection of Sarawak strength as a society built on mutual respect, tolerance and strong family values across different cultures and beliefs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that the spirit of Christmas and the New Year aligns closely with Sarawakian values of compassion, hope and togetherness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the initiatives highlighted were the Sarawak Free Tertiary Education Scheme starting in 2026, investments in the digital economy and green energy sectors to create quality employment, as well as continued welfare assistance and infrastructure development to uplift grassroots communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He stressed that these initiatives are practical measures aimed at improving daily lives, enhancing social mobility and ensuring development reaches every household regardless of race, religion or background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As the elected representative for Kota Sentosa, Yap reaffirmed his commitment to raising the needs and concerns of residents so that development policies translate into real and measurable benefits on the ground. He emphasised that development should be judged by improvements felt by the people, not by announcements alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking ahead to the new year, Yap called on residents of Kota Sentosa and Sarawakians in general to continue nurturing unity and social harmony while working together to support long term growth and stability in the state.
