{"id":3412,"date":"2014-08-03T18:20:17","date_gmt":"2014-08-03T10:20:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=3412"},"modified":"2014-08-03T19:30:49","modified_gmt":"2014-08-03T11:30:49","slug":"senator-datuk-dr-sim-on-coming-state-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=3412","title":{"rendered":"Datuk Dr Sim on coming state election"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SUPP Secretary General, Senator Datuk Dr, Sim Kui Hian said the party will identity new candidates that had been left vacant by suspended State assemblymen and will not compromise on a single seat come next State election.<\/p>\n<p>When asked that former sibu branch Chairman,\u00a0 Dato\u2019 Sri Wong Soon Koh from newly formed United People\u2019s Party (UPP) who wanted to contest in the 19 seats that belonged to SUPP, Sim said it was very strange that a person who claimed to be Barisan Nasional (BN) friendly would want to go against a BN component party.<\/p>\n<p>Sim said imagine a new party is formed due to disgruntled members and then tried to contest in the 35 seats of the PBB, how can that be friendly to BN? \u201cAs what Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP) and Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) leaders had said, you touch one, you touch all. We will not allow outsiders to come to disturb us,\u201d he said. There are 71 state seats in Sarawak.<\/p>\n<p>After the Triennial Delegates conference on August 23, Sim said they will go down to the ground and groom the new candidates. He said even in the past, there are many capable leaders who could be a candidate in all the vacant areas. \u201cIdentifying one for each area is certainly not a difficult task,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n<p>Wong was joined by Ranum Mina (Opar), Jerip Susil (Bengoh) and Jonical Rayong (Engkilili) on July 17 where they announced the birth of UPP.
