Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has intensified its tree maintenance efforts from January to July 2025 to safeguard public safety and care for the environment, particularly during the recent spells of strong winds and heavy rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MPP Chairman Cr. Tan Kai conducted a site inspection today to review the quality of tree cutting and trimming works carried out by appointed contractors. The inspection was part of his routine checks following last week\u2019s adverse weather, which caused several trees to fall in various locations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSince January, our MPP team has cut down 124 trees, while contractors have removed an average of 204 trees each month. Additionally, our team has trimmed 161 trees, and contractors have trimmed 944 trees within MPP\u2019s jurisdiction,\u201d Tan said during the visit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He added that over the past seven months, a total of 473 wild or non-inventory trees, including coconut trees, were cut and trimmed by both the Council and its contractors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Council will continue to monitor its tree inventory closely and carry out necessary maintenance, especially during periods of heavy rain and strong winds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
