{"id":33343,"date":"2025-07-22T11:08:11","date_gmt":"2025-07-22T03:08:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=33343"},"modified":"2025-07-24T11:09:06","modified_gmt":"2025-07-24T03:09:06","slug":"lo-khere-chiang-questions-daps-true-intentions-amid-pms-praise-of-unity","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=33343","title":{"rendered":"Lo Khere Chiang Questions DAP\u2019s True Intentions Amid PM\u2019s Praise of Unity"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Batu Kitang State assemblyman Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang has called out what he sees as a contradiction between Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim\u2019s recent remarks on coalition unity and the continued antagonism shown by DAP Sarawak towards Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Referring to the Prime Minister\u2019s speech at the recent Madani Government retreat in Port Dickson where Anwar praised the strength of his administration, crediting it to unity among coalition partners and thanking GPS leaders for their support Lo questioned the unity in the Prime Minister referring to, when DAP Sarawak continues to attack GPS at every opportunity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo recalled that in early 2023, DAP national leaders including Anthony Loke and Nga Kor Ming had visited Sarawak to issue a public apology and promised to \u201creset\u201d their relationship with the state. But since then, he said, DAP Sarawak has repeatedly undermined GPS by questioning its development policies and casting doubt on initiatives meant to benefit Sarawakians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf that apology had been sincere, they would have the political maturity to step back and let Sarawak-based parties lead the way,\u201d he said. \u201cInstead, we have one face issuing apologies, and another launching attacks days later.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He argued that Sarawak does not lack opposition voices, pointing to local parties like Parti Bumi Kenyalang, which he acknowledged as critical yet grounded in Sarawakian issues. But what the state does not need, he added, is a Malayan-based party using Sarawak to push federal narratives that don\u2019t align with local needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo also expressed concern over growing misinformation, particularly media reports suggesting tension between Sarawak\u2019s Premier and Deputy Premier. \u201cThese kinds of baseless stories don\u2019t appear on their own,\u201d he said. \u201cIf they\u2019re not created in the Peninsula, they\u2019re certainly being amplified by interests connected to it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He further questioned whether national leaders like Anthony Loke and Nga Kor Ming were quietly condoning DAP Sarawak\u2019s actions behind the scenes while publicly promoting unity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cIf DAP Sarawak truly believes in checks and balances, let them form a local party.
