A huge crowd gathered at the Sarawak United Peoples’ Party(SUPP) headquarter to seek assistance in applying for the Sarawak Seniors Health Benefit (SCHB) implemented by the Sarawak GPS government to enjoy RM500 in health assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The GPS government allowed eligible people to apply for this new health benefit starting from July this year, especially senior citizens in the B40 and M40 groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The welfare plan received enthusiastic response from the public where members of the public arrived to inquire and apply for assistance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The recipients of this senior health benefit are different from Kenyalang Gold Card holders which are for the senior citizens aged 60 and above in Sarawak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The SCHB group is the B40 and M40 groups over 60 years old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Applicants must meet relevant conditions, including being 60 years old and above, must be Malaysian citizens with the letter “K” on their identity card, have family monthly income of RM7,000 or less, Kenyalang Gold Card holders, and not accepted by any other institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The authorities have identified 419 potential private clinics across Sarawak as strategic partners, of which 136 are dental clinics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eligible persons only need to go to a designated clinic to receive treatment after presenting their personal identity card, and then RM500 treatment fee will be deducted for assistance provided by the government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SUPP urged the public to go to the headquarters or nearby SUPP service center to inquire or seek application assistance and they can also go to the nearby SUPP service centers or branches to submit them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The office hours of the SUPP headquarters are from Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:00 pm (closed from 12:00 to 1:00 noon), and on Saturdays from 8:30 am to 12:00 noon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
