SUPP Batu Kitang branch secretary, Tnay Li Ping asked Sarawak MPs for Stampin and Bandar Kuching to apply for more development grants for federal agencies in Stampin and Bandar Kuching to upgrade its facilities, instead of making complaints all the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tnay said like the fire hydrant issue raised by Violet Yong which she said said Yong should remind MP Stampin Chong Chieng Jen and MP Kuching, Kelvin Yii to raise this issue in Parliament and seek for more funds for Sarawak to improve fire protection equipment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She added that the schools, shortage of manpower in the police station, insufficeint patrol cars and personel, insufficient medical facilities and other issues are worthy of the attention of members of Parliament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sarawak, she added, has contributed billions in oil currency and paid huge amount of taxes to the federal government so the Federal should assist Sarawak in upgrading and improving these areas that are under their jurisdiction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“It is the duty of all MPs elected to represent Sarawakians in Parliament to speak on behalf of the Sarawakian people in Parliament. Instead of always showering blame on fellow Sarawakians and claiming inaction from fellow Sarawakians MPs in parliament, perhaps they should look at their own MPs, ” she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Tnay pointed out that Bomba, Health department, police and schools are all under the jurisdiction of the federal government. However, these institutions established in Sarawak often face the problem of poor maintenance due to insufficient allocation.
