The Federal Government has approved a RM30 million budget to expand the Ulu Sungai Merah Road.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Assistant Minister for Public Health, Housing and Local Government Michael Tiang confirmed this after a meeting with the Land and Survey Department Sibu Superintendent Mohamad Muazziz Othman today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the project would be implemented under the 12th Malaysia Plan, and work is expected to commence next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said the project would help solve the traffic congestion problem in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cThe whole length of the project is 2.17km. It would be from the traffic light junction to the junction of Ulu Sungai Merah Lane 46.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cAt the moment, the project is at the design stage, and hopefully, the work will commence in 2023,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Pelawan assemblyman added that the department is appealing from the government to increase the budget to RM38 million as the current approved budget is insufficient.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
