{"id":30101,"date":"2022-01-10T16:10:00","date_gmt":"2022-01-10T08:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=30101"},"modified":"2022-01-19T16:12:50","modified_gmt":"2022-01-19T08:12:50","slug":"lo-khere-chiang-explains-the-traffic-jam-in-kota-sentosa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=30101","title":{"rendered":"Lo Khere Chiang explains the traffic jam in Kota Sentosa"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman Lo Khere Chiang said one of the measures to tackle traffic jams at Mile 7 is to increase the green light traffic timing as long as possible from Serian towards Kuching from 6 am to 9 am to 140 seconds from the normal 85 seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo, who was with Wilfred Yap, State assemblyman for Sentosa this morning to oversee the traffic situation at Sentosa said during the evening the timing for 5 pm to 7.30 pm from Kuching to Serian was adjusted to 120 seconds from 65 seconds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Both Lo and Yap said they received so many complaints on the traffic congestion and they decided to see for themselves what best can be done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They urged road users to be patient until the Mile 7 flyover is completed in April.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The council, he added has discussed with Lebuhraya Borneo Utara Sdn Bhd (LBU), Public Works Department (JKR) and the contractor to find ways and means to solve the traffic jam issues related to the flyover\u2019s construction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;I can tell you why there is more traffic jams because Sarawak is now in Phase 4 of the National Recovery Plan which has encouraged more movement resulting in the increase of traffic volume, and the situation is made worse with the opening of schools which started yesterday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides the timing of Traffic lights from Kuching to Serian were changed, Lo added that the route  from Jalan Haji Baki heading towards Sentosa and Sentosa to Haji Baki were also adjusted as well as it is a four-way junction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lo assured that MPP will continue to push the contractor involved to complete the flyover project as soon as possible. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the contractor, he said, by April, the flyover will be completed and the traffic jam will be a thing of the past.
