Government policies must be based on needs, says Gabungan Parti SARAWAK (GPS) candidate for Kota Sentosa Wilfred Yap Yau Sin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yap said he believed in social justice and there should be equality to ensure the same, if not more balanced opportunities within a society or a bigger community, no matter the skin colour, religion or culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“I believe in policies based on social justice to create a fair and just society. I am a Christians and whether you are a Christian, Buddhist or Muslim, whether you’re a Chinese, Malay, Bidayuh or Iban, or what you look like or whether you’re rich or poor, the government has the responsibility to ensure that everyone is given the same opportunity, ” he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seeing the majority of the population is just average, he opinioned that there must be policies that prioritise assisstance for the poor, the sick and the average. He added that only policies based on social justice, that cater to the masses, are the way forward in every nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yap, who is also SUPP Kota Sentosa branch chairman, pin-pointed Pakatan Harapan (PH)’s miscue for not implementing their well-drafted policies when they held power as government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The policies they introduced were good, but the problem is they forgot about all their promises when they became government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
“They kept on talking about need-based policies, but for 22 months they had forgotten about all of them,” he said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Currently, Yap also heads the SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) as chief. In the coming 12th Sarawak State Election (PRN12), he will be facing off with four other candidates from Democratic Action Party (DAP), Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK), and Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party (Aspirasi).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
