Sarawak Peoples’ United Party(SUPP)agreed with the suggestion of the Sarawak Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCCI)to help needy Sarawakians.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said, during this period of the epidemic, all walks of life and people have suffered differently , such as business suspension, reduced income, loss of work and increased living expenses, etc., coupled with restrictions on administrative orders, some people are unable to work as usual, which affects Livelihood, even three meals a day, is a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ting was commenting on the SCCCI proposal to the Sarawak government to use the revenue from the sales tax on petroleum products to distribute RM500 to each Sarawakian to help everyone through the difficult period of the epidemic and Sarawak government has the ability to do this because in addition to its strong reserves, it also levies a 5% petroleum product sales tax every year. According to the global oil price trend this year, Sarawak\u2019s petroleum product sales today is levied. Taxes may exceed 4 billion ringgits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ting said SUPP supported using the State Oil revenue to help Sarawakians affected at this moment as so many are at a loss when they lost their income.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He added that during the 2020 SUPP Delegates conference, the resolutions passed include calling on the Sarawak government to provide Sarawak people with free coronavirus vaccines, and making good use of the approximately RM3.1 billion petroleum product sales tax that year by giving Sarawakians RM500 in one lump sum.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With the start of the vaccination plan, the Sarawak People\u2019s United Party thanked the Sarawak government for providing free coronavirus vaccines to all people. According to data from the National Coordination Task Force on Coronary Disease Immunization (CITF), as of June 14th, 355,676 people in Sarawak had received the first dose of vaccine, and 159,920 people had completed two doses of vaccination, and the whole sand was in full swing. The vaccination plan will ensure that the people of Sarawak can get rid of the nightmare of the epidemic as soon as possible and return to normal life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
SUPP praised Sarawak Chief Minister Datuk Pattinggi Abang Johari for announcing on May 28 the “My Dear Sarawak Special Assistance Package 6.0” with a total value of 1.4 billion ringgit, which covers 15 measures to benefit the people. All areas are burdened by the epidemic. During the epidemic, the government of the Sarawak Coalition of Political Parties has shown caring and compassion for the people.
