JKR Sarawak assistant director (Road Maintenance) Awang Fadillah and JKR Kuching Division assistant divisional engineer Bong Yan phing brief minister of Local Government and Housing Sarawak Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian on the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Under the project, Batu kawa road will be upgraded with the installation of center divider barrier. It will divided to three phases- 1. Upgrade of 1.42km stretch road( from Matang junction to Batu Kawa market junction),It cost Rm1.5 million. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

  1. 2.94 km distance from the bridge till Stephen Yong traffic light junction, the road will be upgraded, in which 2.4km road will have cement divider barrier (cost Rm2.3million) and 540 meter road with steel barrier ( cost Rm0.5 million) respectively. <\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n

    Taman Desa Wira junction widening is in progress.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Dr sim are asking for 3 more packages, namely,Batu Kawa Road (Highfield) to the bridge (one way) ,Batu Kawa Road (N14 service centre to Malihah junction-one way as the opposite way has been approved) and
    \nTaman Desa Wira to MJC (one way).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Batu Kawa Road (Highfield) to the bridge (one way)as the opposite way costing over $2million was approved and upgrade done end of last year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Meanwhile\uff0cChief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg in Jan 2021, had announced new 9.5km dual carriageways from jalan Stephen Yong to FRC, Matang with budget of $250 million which is in detail designed stage now before tender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Batu Kawa road always congested during peak hours, and is the accident spot recently, thus, Batu Kawah assemblyman Dato Sri Dr. Sim Kui Hian bring up this issue to seek permanent solution from JKR. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Sim express his gratitude to Works ministry department and Works minister Fadillah Yusof for approve this project which will benefit Batu Kawa road users.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
