These tar-sealed roads would result in better road network, connecting thereby the residents with the town in much shorter time and ultimately bringing about more comfortable travelling. A lot of thoughts have been put into this project to ensure that the residents and general public residing in this area benefits from it.

He said as in all of Council’s contract works, the Council upon being notified by the contractor that he had completed the works, will carry out compliance inspection prior to the certification of work done. In the event that non-compliance to specifications are discovered, the Contractor will be required to meet the specs.

“The works are still in progress and until all the specs are met, the work is deemed incomplete and the contractor will have to meet the terms of his engagement. Prior to the certification, that the works had been completed according to specifications, the necessary coring test would be carried out to ensure that the works meet the specifications.

From our several visual inspection on the project, we noticed that many parts of this gravel roads are uneven thus making it difficult for the thickness of the tar road to be the same all over given that the tar road has to be even. If the thickness of the road is 4”, the height of the road would be higher than the houses and the public living in that area would be inconvenienced

I urge Violet Yong to address those issues in your own backyard first before coming to Batu Kawa. For instance, why construct a concrete road on top of a hill at Pending when the ground is already so hard and strong? What a mess it is today! Her constituents should be allowed to benefit from her myriad of expertises instead. Instead she chooses to “help” elsewhere where it benefits none of her constituents!” he added.

The people in these areas in Batu Kawa, said Lo are thankful to Chief Minister for his kindness and generosity and farsightedness to improve the lives of the people through better infrastructures. He said we always need a leader who always has the interest of the people at heart. In return the people will show the full support to CM so that he can continue to do more for the people. We can never forget his generosity, kindness, sincerity and his full commitment for the people at all times.

The roads connecting to the individual houses at the 12 localities within N14 Batu Kawah Constituency before this, were gravel roads which were in bad shape and conditions, causing much inconveniences to road users and resulting in much higher vehicle operating costs, said Lo Khere Chiang, MPP Chairman.
