“In response to PSB and DAP\u2019s accusations, I would like to set the record straight that there is no personal identifiable information such as IC or name disclosed in minister\u2019s statement. YB prof Sim is a world renown cardiologist who is well aware of respecting patient privacy and confidential information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the first wave of COVID 19 in Sarawak, SDMC only disclose the general locality of the COVID 19 patient and urging people who had close contact to self volunteer for COVID 19 test,’ she said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Personally I think such request is very reasonable. Without the information, public won\u2019t even know if they had been in close contact with the patient, let alone go for testing. As we are now aware, fighting COVID 19 outbreak requires not only the front-liners but the whole community\u2019s involvement. Information is key to avoid high risk areas and contain further spread of COVID19. So it was with lots of lobbies from lots of people that SDMC\u2019s daily report now contain more details of patient occupation and location history. The ultimate goal is not to hurt certain businesses but to save life and economy by controlling COVID19 outbreak, ” she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With more information available to the rakyat, Kho said, our community at large is participating in the fight of COVID 19 outbreak together.
