The Sarawak United Peoples\u2019 Party had urged the state government to provide free COVID-19 vaccine to all Sarawakian once it is available during its annual delegate conference on Oct 18th 2020, said SUPP Woman Central chief, Kho Teck Wan.
She said the proposal was one of the 6 resolutions adopted by party members and submitted to Chief Minister during the closing ceremony of the conference.
Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari had announced that the Sarawak government will provide free COVID-19 vaccine for Sarawakian once the vaccine is available and even during Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah\u2019 State Assembly winding up speech on Nov 13, we were informed that the YAB Chief Minister Abang Jo had pledged to allocate a sum of fund to ensure all Sarawakian will have access to the COVID-19 vaccine once it is available.
“I am surprised to see a certain state assemblywoman stood up to request for free covid-19 vaccine for all Sarawakian after the deputy CM\u2019s winding up speech which already indicated that CM had agreed to provide free vaccine for all Sarawakian. I wonder if she fell asleep during DCM\u2019s speech in DUN?” she asked.
Kho sad Sarawak government is the only state government in Malaysia that pledged to provide free COVID-19 vaccine for its people once it is available.
That was, she pointed out, contrary to the comment made by the former Malaysia Finance Minister who claimed that Sarawak will be bankrupt, Sarawak had proofed that its economy is resilience against pandemic by not only pledging free COVID-19 vaccine, but had provided extra allocation to front liners, B40, reporters and those whose livelihood are greatly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
