SUPP Central Youth Chief, Michael Tiang asked Deputy Minister of\u00a0Domestic Trade and Consumers Affairs Chong Chieng Jen to stop his\u00a0empty rhetoric and concentrate on his real task, fighting for Sarawak\u00a0rights.<\/p>\n

Tiang pointed out that at every weekend Chong was back in Kuching, he\u00a0would be fired up with his statements. \u201cWe have enough of statements\u00a0already, stop playing politics and concentrate on the real core of\u00a0what you are supposed to do as an MP,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In his press conference yesterday, Tiang wondered if Chong would\u00a0support Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg\u2019s\u00a0proposal to have a special committee for talks on Malaysia Agrement\u00a01963 (MA63) to be modeled along the line of Inter-Governmental\u00a0Committee (IGC).<\/p>\n

Instead of \u2018firing\u2019 up every time and reminding us that PH is the\u00a0Federal government, something we all know which he did not have to\u00a0spell out, he, Chong should instead focus his energy and effort to\u00a0fight in Parliament for federal projects to be launched in Sarawak.<\/p>\n

Besides monitoring and reviewing the contracts for RM29 billion on Pan\u00a0Borneo Highway, has DAP Sarawak fought in the cabinet for any new\u00a0federal roads to be built in Sarawak to accelerate Sarawak\u2019s\u00a0infrastructural development as well as to help stimulating the local\u00a0economy? Through this, he said, will give Sarawakians more job\u00a0opportunities instead of having to move away from Sarawak in search of\u00a0greener pasture.<\/p>\n

He stated that it was already 160 days since PH took over as\u00a0Government and with a Minister and deputy Minister from Sarawak, there\u00a0was yet any centric policies announced for Sarawakians. \u201cWhat he\u00a0should do too is to facilitate the return of autonomy to Sarawak\u2019s\u00a0Education and Health, as outlined in the PH\u2019s election manifesto. We\u00a0are all waiting,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Tiang also called to Chong to ensure that History books gave the\u00a0actual facts of history which should include Sabah and Sarawak as\u00a0without these two states, there will be no Malaysia. He recalled that\u00a0during his Lan Berambeh anak Sarawak 2018, there were many young\u00a0Sarawakians visiting them as SUPP had set up a booth there.<\/p>\n

Many voiced their disappointment that Peninsular Malaysians were not\u00a0aware of MA 63 and there was hardly anything on that in their History\u00a0books. Tiang said, even the young Sarawakians claimed they did not\u00a0have much knowledge on that part of history.<\/p>\n
