He\u00a0said it should remain this way and called to all to &#8216;fight&#8217; the rabies\u00a0together.<\/p>\n<p>In a press conference yesterday after meeting Miri Division Health\u00a0department, Ting he was sad that Miri is added to the list of the\u00a0infected rabies area and called to all quarters to come together to\u00a0combat the disease. The first thing, he said, is to ensure all the\u00a0pets are vaccinated, a process which is free at the government vet centre.<\/p>\n<p>His meeting with Director of Miri Hospital, Dr. Jack Wong, he said,\u00a0was to come out with contingency plans to fight the rabies in Miri.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is us, the people, who can prevent the spread of the disease so\u00a0let us play a role for us all. Those who have been bitten by either\u00a0house pets or strays, please, go straight to the hospital for\u00a0treatment,\u201d said Ting.<\/p>\n<p>He added that flyers were send out through social media on the\u00a0prevention and what to do if bitten.<\/p>\n<p>Ting added that\u00a0 that Miri Hospital and Miri Health Office are in a\u00a0full state of preparedness for any outbreak and reassures the public\u00a0that there will be enough vaccines at the hospital to cater for anyone\u00a0who has received a dog bite.<\/p>\n<p>Those who wished to get their dog vaccinated can get further details\u00a0at 085-411866.
