Come\u00a0December 8, \u00a0Old Josephians\u2019 Association (OJA) Kuching will be having their 2nd consecutive Ora Et Labora Run\u00a0starting 6 am\u00a0starting from St. Joseph school.<\/p>\n
Local Minister and Housing, Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian, \u00a0who\u00a0is also OJA president, called\u00a0to all to join the Run as it is for a good deed to raise fund for the student\u2019s extra-curricular activities for the year 2019.<\/p>\n
He said he was made to know that \u00a0the school lacked funds to send their Robotics team which had emerged as State Champions in a Robotics competition to the National Robotics Competition at Kuala Lumpur.<\/p>\n
He pointed out that \u00a0OJA hopes to make Ora Et Labora Run an annual event where alumni can visit the school every year. This year, he encouraged the alumni from different batches to make their own banner of \u201cClass of Graduation Year\u201d for display in Run group photo.<\/p>\n
He further added that a Run will be organised again next year together with a charity sale so as to inculcate the Lasallian values to help the last, lost and least. After completing the Run, runners can still hang around in the school compound for a fellowship breakfast and to shop for knick knacks.<\/p>\n
At least 2,000 runners are expected to join the Run comprising of current students, alumni and the public.<\/p>\n
The event is divided into the 5km Fun Run and 10km competitive run where we have two Categories; Open Category (Men and Women) for the public and to make it more interesting, the Josephians\u2019 Category for existing students, and graduates.<\/p>\n
All participants who finish the run will receive finisher medals by Medal Depot and for the 10km competitive run, top 5 finishers will receive additional cash prizes.<\/p>\n
The registration fees per person are RM45 for the 5km Fun Run, and RM55 for the 10km Competitive Run, which entitles a runner for a compression shirt by 2XU Malaysia and a running bib.
