{"id":22450,"date":"2018-07-12T16:15:05","date_gmt":"2018-07-12T08:15:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=22450"},"modified":"2018-07-12T17:56:17","modified_gmt":"2018-07-12T09:56:17","slug":"supp-regulate-political-funding-to-keep-corruption-at-bay","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=22450","title":{"rendered":"SUPP: regulate political funding to keep corruption at bay"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sarawak United People\u2019s Party (SUPP) Secretary general, Datuk Sebastian Ting said he \u200b\u00a0is supportive of Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad\u2019s move to regulate political funding\u00a0in an effort to keep corruption at bay.<\/p>\n<p>\u200bHe pointed out that\u00a0previous BN federal government had in fact embarked on introducing a similar law on political funding and the \u200bdraft on the law on not just political funding but also expenses by various political parties was done by former minister in the prime minister\u2019s department Datuk Paul Low.<\/p>\n<p>Ting, who is Piasau assemblyman, said SUPP had been supportive of such a law, and hence would look forward to the proposed law on political funding by the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government being tabled and passed in Parliament.<\/p>\n<p>In the last meeting, he said all BN component parties who were present had \u200b\u00a0unanimously agreed to have a law like that.
