SUPP Kota Sentosa Branch Chairman, Wilfred Yap is very disappointed with YB Chong Chieng Jen\u2019s recent request through the press for YB Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian, Minister for Housing & Local Government and State Assemblyman for Batu Kawa, to account for his minor rural project (MRP) and rural transformation project (RTP) funds.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The request from YB Chong to YB Datuk Dr Sim is without substance and also very irresponsible as\u00a0\u00a0DAP Ybs have already on many occasion in the Sarawak State Assembly been informed that the disbursement of MRP and RTP funds are transparent and closely monitored by State Implementation and Monitoring Unit in the Chief Minister’s Department and following guidelines by the State Treasury Department.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The request from YB Chong to YB Datuk Dr Sim is clearly an admission that DAP YBs are not effective as a conduit\/channel to the Government for securing development funding for the benefit of the constituency they represent when compared to constituencies represented by Sarawak BN YBs.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

It must be made clear to the public that ADUN YBs receive RM15,000.00 and MPs are paid a fixed monthly allowance of RM16,000.00, not to mention other perks and benefits and as such Wilfred Yap would\u00a0\u00a0like to remind YB Chong on his role as an elected representative which amongst others is to\u00a0contribute in a positive manner\u00a0<\/b>and\u00a0represent effectively<\/b>\u00a0the constituents by raising their concerns to the relevant authorities and\u00a0\u00a0securing the necessary development funding from the Government to solve their various problems.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As DAP YBs are enjoying a hefty monthly pay check of RM15,000.00 as ADUN and RM16,000.00 as MP, DAP YBs are\u00a0duty bound to serve<\/b>\u00a0and help the people in the constituencies they represent with whatever problems they are facing and most of all\u00a0securing the development funding<\/b>\u00a0to solve all their infrastructure problems without giving excuses or engaging in the blame game.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

DAP YBs are aware that most problems cannot be solved through just calling a press conference or issuing press statements but through follow up on the various problems raised with realistic and appropriate actions done to solve the problems.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

If problems can be solved just by a press conference or press statement blaming the Government, than there is no more need for the people to elect a \u201cYB\u201d to serve a constituency. Instead of criticisms, finding fault with the Government, giving excuses and engaging in a blame game, DAP YBs should go to the ground and start serving the people and ask the right and appropriate questions during state assembly sittings and parliament sittings for the benefit of the constituents they represent. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Sarawak DAP MPs and ADUN YBs would refrain from cheap publicity stunts for votes but on\u00a0\u00a0serving the constituencies that they represent by solving the numerous local community problems and issues and bringing tangible benefits through securing development funding to solve the numerous infrastructure problems currently faced by the voters in the areas they represent to justify the huge salaries and allowances they are currently receiving. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

It is therefore very crucial and important for every loyal Sarawakian not to be distracted and misled by Sarawak DAP but instead to stand up for our rights and speak with one United Sarawak voice during the coming 14th<\/sup>\u00a0General Elections for the sake of our future generations of Sarawakians.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
