{"id":21208,"date":"2018-03-16T14:39:41","date_gmt":"2018-03-16T06:39:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=21208"},"modified":"2018-03-16T14:50:41","modified_gmt":"2018-03-16T06:50:41","slug":"helping-out-stateless-children","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=21208","title":{"rendered":"Helping out stateless children"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap was recently approached\u00a0for advice and assistance as both him and his wife&#8217;s name was not registered as the father and mother of the child in the child\u2019s birth certificate. The child is already eight (8) years old and had been taken care by both the individual and his wife since birth.<\/p>\n<p>The individual and his wife had asked for assistance as they did not understand the procedure and requirements of the process required for adoption and application for Malaysian citizenship for the child.<\/p>\n<p>SUPP Public Complaints Bureau Chief, Wilfred Yap after hearing the\u00a0predicament have now successfully assisted him in applying to the High Court for an Order that he is made a legal guardian of the child under his care since birth.<\/p>\n<p>With the High Court Order of appointment as guardian, Yap proceeded to assist him\u00a0\u00a0to apply to the District Office for the legal adoption of the child under his care. The \u00a0District Office have approved his application for adoption of the child under his care and SUPP PCB is now assisting him to register the Certificate of Adoption of the child with Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara (JPN).
