(1) The announcement by Chief Minister on the return of Sarawak\u2019s rights inadvertently taken by the Federal government, particularly rights of Sarawak in oil mining within her continental shelf, is a milestone to the efforts by the Devolution of Power Technical Committee.<\/p>\n
(2) Together with the acquisition of Bakun Dam, the establishment of Development Bank of Sarawak (DBOS), and now the launching of Petroleum Sarawak Berhad (PETROS) to carry out oil mining in Sarawak\u2019s own boundaries as established in Sarawak (Alteration of Boundaries) Ordinance 1954 signifying that our Chief Minister has successfully led Sarawakians taking another big step towards a Stronger Sarawak!<\/p>\n
(3) SUPP has consistently and continuously asserted its stand that the only true meaning for Sarawak to be stronger is that Sarawak must first possess financial independence. And such financial privilege and position can only be attained through all Sarawakians, from both urban and rural, by giving their unreserved political support to Sarawak BN under the leadership of our Chief Minister Datuk Patinggi Abang Zoha
(4) Yesterday\u2019s announcement by our CM in fact also established another landmark that we Sarawakians are the owner of our lands and continental shelf, and our Sarawakian oil mining company PETROS shall therefore have rights to explore, extract and mine oil and gas, not as a contractor to Petronas as alleged by the opposition parties.<\/p>\n
This proves again only Sarawak based parties will fight for Sarawak, not only in words and talks but in real actions to ensure we get back all the rights under Malaysia Agreement 1963 (MA63).
