{"id":15513,"date":"2017-02-14T18:52:22","date_gmt":"2017-02-14T10:52:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=15513"},"modified":"2017-02-14T23:04:08","modified_gmt":"2017-02-14T15:04:08","slug":"dr-sim-good-culture-must-continue-for-the-younger-generation","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=15513","title":{"rendered":"Dr Sim: good culture must continue for the younger generation"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Local government minister, Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian said Kuching\u00a0Simpang Tiga Area committee Association has imposed a good tradition\u00a0of respecting the elders.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sim who was officiating the Association Chinese New year gathering\u00a0cum the Association\u2019s anniversary dinner recently said good culture\u00a0must continue and it is a good example for the younger generation.<\/p>\n<p>He said in the Malay culture, the youngsters kissed the hand of the\u00a0elders as a respect. \u201cIt is the duty of the parents to teach the\u00a0youngsters to respect the elders,\u201d he said citing that some children\u00a0do not greet elderly when meeting them.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Sim also praised the Association for their ability to forge better\u00a0relationship among their members. He said with unity, a lot can be\u00a0done. The Chinese community, he added, should also be united. With\u00a0unity, we can achieve a lot of things, he said.<\/p>\n<p>Saying that the new Chief Minister, Datuk Amar Abang Johari bin Abang\u00a0Openg has continue the good work of the late Chief Minister, Dr. Sim\u00a0said all the Chinese should rally and throw their support to the new\u00a0Chief Minister.<\/p>\n<p>On the political front, Opposition\u00a0 said I should go to see\u00a0blocked drains, roads and other infrastructures, Dr. Sim said it was\u00a0ridiculous that he should be stationed to do all those. \u201cI have a team\u00a0to assist me there and I have 26 councils under my Ministry. If I were\u00a0to go to see all the drains in Sarawak, what time do I have to do the\u00a0policies matter,\u201d he lamented.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sim also pointed out that the Opposition has been talking about\u00a0Chinese education all the time but with the SUPP\u2019s involvement into\u00a0the matter, fund has been coming in for the Chinese schools.
