In order to further improve the quality or serving the Rakyats, it is both crucial and most effective to increase the number of Chinese police officers.

In view of that, the Royal Malaysia Police has recently initiated a nationwide recruitment program targeted at recruiting the Chinese youth to join the police force.

Since both SPM and STPM results will be released very soon and SUPP will also be conducting a series of Malaysia Higher Education Seminar and Counselling programs in a number of cities and towns throughout the state under the party’s Education Bureau, SUPP Central Youth Chairman Tan Kai said, that the organizer will be sharing the information with those who are interested to apply, including the fresh school leavers during the seminar.

“Number of police officers who can speak fluent Mandarin in the force is very low while many of the general public from the Chinese community, particularly the senior citizens face difficulties in communicating effectively with the police officers in Bahasa Malaysia. This causes many unnecessary misunderstandings and it is very inconvenient for both parties. Too often we see people getting frustrated when they tried to lodge a police report due to miscommunication. But, if we could get more ambitious and patriotic young men and women from the Chinese community to join the force, not only can these problems be solved more easily, this will without a doubt improve the service quality of the police force.”

Tan Kai was invited to attend a Chinese Policeman Recruitment Program talk with the state’s deputy police commissioner SAC Datuk Lau Hong Soon this morning at the state’s Royal Malaysia Police headquarter.
