{"id":8709,"date":"2015-12-14T09:52:01","date_gmt":"2015-12-14T01:52:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=8709"},"modified":"2015-12-14T10:03:16","modified_gmt":"2015-12-14T02:03:16","slug":"dr-sim-amend-laws-that-effect-sarawakians-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=8709","title":{"rendered":"Dr Sim: Amend laws that effect Sarawakian&#8217;s rights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The federal government should take another look at the Malaysia Agreement 1963 as there are unhappiness expressed by Sarawakians, particularly where development is concerned, said SUPP President, Senator Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Sim said no one is asking them to change the laws but if there are any new laws passed after Malaysia Agreement 1963 that affect our rights, then we must amend the laws in Parliament to ensure the Malaysia Agreement is fulfilled.<\/p>\n<p>Dr Sim pointed out that Sarawak, together with Sabah are partners and not one of the 13 states in the formation of Malaysia as they are equals in all aspects.<\/p>\n<p>He added that Sarawakians want a meaningful autonomy, not merely empowerment in a few areas.
