The Sarawak Women for Women Society (SWWS) will be organizing a walk at Friendship Park Kuching to raise awareness on the need of protect children from rape at 11am on June 7.<\/p>\n
The walk will be similar to the condition of the 48 Women and Children NGO from Semenanjung Malaysia in wearing an orange shirt.<\/p>\n
SUPP Central Women advisor Amy Tnay, said the women wing from each branch of\u00a0 SUPP Southern zone will fully support this meaningful event.<\/p>\n
She also appealed to the people responding to “# HENTIKAN ROGOL, STOP RAPING OUR CHILDREN,” CITIZENS AGAINST RAPE WALK , to call on the Government to amend the Criminal Code to strengthen child protection policies to avoid more Children suffering in the future.<\/p>\n
Amy Tnay wishes the public can strongly support this activity as it crosses political boundaries, religious and gender activities, to ensure the safety of the country’s future masters. It calls for the relevant authorities to amend the Evidence Act 1950, to strengthen the testimony and examination of child victims to avoid having more children suffering in future.<\/p>\n
Amy Tnay urges the public to attend the event and once again reminds people to wear orange clothing or accessories, following the theme of the activity.<\/p>\n
She also urged and encouraged women bodies and NGOs in Sarawak and also the public to voice out against child rape and answer to this call or launch their own campaign, in an attempt to fight for women and children’s rights.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
