SUPP Public Complaints Bureau was approached at the end of last year by a group of eight taxi drivers who were also members of the Sarawak Taxi Owner\u2019s Association. This group were facing problems to register their motor vehicle aged 6 years and 4 months as budget taxis with the Lembaga Perlesenan Kenderaan Perdagangan Sarawak (LPKP Sarawak).<\/p>\n
Following an\u00a0interview with this group of taxi drivers, it was discovered that their application had already been rejected twice by\u00a0 LPKP Sarawak and that they were making their third appeal at that time. As such they had decided to approach SUPP Public Complaints Bureau for help and assistance for their third appeal\u00a0after reading in the press that SUPP Public Complaints Bureau provided assistance to anyone who had problems in their dealings with government agencies.<\/p>\n
Under the above circumstances, SUPP Public Complaints Bureau had appealed to LPKP Sarawak on behalf of this group and requested LPKP Sarawak to consider their predicament and give due consideration to the fact that it would be very costly and beyond their financial capacity to purchase a new motor vehicle to be used as a budget taxi.<\/p>\n
SUPP Public Complaints Bureau also requested LPKP Sarawak to give their due consideration on the basis that the motor vehicles can be used as budget taxis up to fifteen years and the application of this group involved vehicle which were still in good condition with low mileage.<\/p>\n
Following the appeal,\u00a0the\u00a0LPKP Sarawak have reconsidered their decision and approved the application of this group of taxi drivers to use their vehicle as budget taxis for a further four years.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
