Kuching: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Central Youth Wing is appealing to all youth members throughout the state to remain calm and united during this hard time on the de-registration of SUPP\u2019s Bekenu and Miri (Piasau) branches.<\/p>\n

SUPP Youth Chairman, Tan Kai and Sec General, Wilfred Yap said, “We stand by our leaders and our loyalty, passion and love for the party will never falter especially in this tough time. We are going to stand tall and help the two Northern branches, formerly headed by Tan Sri Peter Chin and Dato’ Sebastian Ting, to walk out of this dilemma and to ensure they stand on their feet, stronger than ever. We will not allow anyone to topple us in such tiring times. Instead as what our motto, Sa’ati (united) means, we are going to do it together.<\/p>\n

Thus, we appealed to all party members, young and old, to offer your constructive ideas, so that our party will ride over this tide. We must consolidate this time to show we can do it, said Tan Kai.<\/p>\n

DAP, he said was instructed by ROS to carry out a re-election exercise not too long ago, when the party\u2019s CEC election was deemed faulty. In regard to this, SUPP Central Youth felt that, it is only fair if the same standard was applied and the party disputes should be resolved through a re-election, since only two branches were identified to have incurred technical problems in their branch election. If DAP was given the opportunity to resolve the party\u2019s CEC election faulty, doesn\u2019t SUPP deserve the same?<\/p>\n

Tan Kai and Yap said since the leaders from both Chin and Wong factions had more than once voiced their intention to retire from the political scene and that the young leaders could take over, then, leaders from the two factions should identify the young potential leaders who will one day take over the baton to take part in the party\u2019s election.<\/p>\n

As 2014 is the party\u2019s election year, the party central should consider to bring its TDC forward, so that a younger and more dynamic central leadership, who are both supported and recognized by all members, can emerge to lead the party.<\/p>\n

Tan Kai also suggested that both camps should extend each other an olive branch and talk it out. “I firmly believe that whoever love this party would want to sit down and work out a formula that will make the party grow stronger. Whoever said that he loves the party and want to destroy it and to see that it is being de-registered, is actually contradicting himself. We must not forget our enemy is out there, the Oppositions, not within.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
