While it is important to have supervision in governance, it should be carried out in a rational and constructive manner. When supervision becomes emotional or misleading, it can harm the foundation of good governance rather than strengthen it.

Sarawak DAP has, at times, raised issues that create division and questioned government efforts without offering constructive alternatives. Such actions can unintentionally undermine public confidence and slow down progress. We believe that healthy democracy requires responsible opposition that supports the state’s growth while holding the government accountable in a fair and respectful way.

Currently, Sarawak enjoys a stable political environment that allows leaders to focus on policy-making and development. SUPP, as a key member of the ruling coalition Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), actively participates in this process, ensuring that policies are well thought out and in the best interest of the people from the start.

Contrary to some claims, SUPP engages in meaningful work within the system rather than seeking attention through loud criticism. We focus on practical solutions and effective governance, which we believe is the best way to serve the people of Sarawak.

Looking back, promises made during previous administrations have not always been fulfilled. It is important to acknowledge the current achievements and continued efforts of the GPS government to enhance Sarawak’s autonomy and development.

The policies underway — including free university education, international schools, green energy, local industries, improved infrastructure, and social assistance — are designed to support Sarawak’s long-term goal of becoming a high-income state by 2030. These initiatives reflect careful planning and steady progress.

In conclusion, Sarawak requires leadership that is pragmatic, stable, and forward-looking. Constructive supervision and collaboration between the government and opposition will benefit all Sarawakians and help sustain our positive development trajectory.

The Sarawak Democratic Action Party (DAP) often describes its role as “supervising” and “providing checks and balances.” However, we believe some of their actions have caused misunderstandings among the public and unfairly criticized the Sarawak government’s policies.
