Kota Sentosa assemblyman YB Wilfred Yap and Political Secretary to the Premier, Kho Teck Wan, were present at a legal firm to witness the signing of the Memorandum of Transfer (MOT) by purchasers of Phase 4 in Taman Kalien. This follows the issuance of individual land titles by the Land and Survey Department.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kho said during late 2023, Stampin MP and Padungan assemblyman Chong Chieng Jen, along with his assistant Michael Kong, issued several press statements asking Deputy Premier YB Datuk Amar Dr. Sim Kui Hian\u2019s ministry why they failed to assist Taman Kalien residents in obtaining their land titles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Since then, some house owners approached me for help. Although land title matters do not fall under the Ministry of Public Health, Housing, and Local Government, Dr. Sim Kui tasked me with assisting not just those who reached out but all Taman Kalien homeowners,” said Kho.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She added that she had engaged with the developer, Land and Survey Sarawak, and Kota Sentosa assemblyman Yap since Taman Kalien falls under his constituency to expedite the issuance process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The developer, Miss Yong, inherited the land title issue following her father\u2019s passing and decided to take responsibility by working closely with the Land and Survey Department Sarawak to resolve it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“The signing of the Memorandum of Transfer today marks the official handover of land titles to homeowners in Phase 4,” Kho said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The legal firm handling the process will notify all 36 homeowners of Taman Kalien Phase 4 to sign their MOTs starting next week. Once the MOTs are signed and stamp duty is paid, the land titles will be held by the respective banks until mortgages are fully settled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kho said the developer has arranged a payment plan with Land and Survey Sarawak to cover the land title premiums, beginning with Phase 4, followed by Phases 5, 6, 2, and 3. This phased approach is intended to ensure stable cash flow for the developer and the smooth release of all land titles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Acknowledging the time required for all titles to be processed, Kho commended Miss Yong\u2019s dedication and financial commitment to resolving the longstanding issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I urge homeowners from other phases to be patient as the developer continues working with the Land and Survey Department Sarawak to process the land title payments,” she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She assured that SUPP will continue coordinating with the developer and Land and Survey Sarawak to facilitate the issuance of land titles for the remaining phases of Taman Kalien.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
