Nonetheless, throwing petrol bombs is an extremely dangerous and violent act that could potentially result in loss of life. We hope that after apprehending the culprits, the police will impose severe punishment to deter others from attempting such actions.

“Sarawak has long been a model of harmony and peaceful coexistence among its various ethnic groups. However, the incident at KK Mart in Satok reminds us that the peace in Sarawak needs constant maintenance and reinforcement; it cannot be taken for granted. The unity that has been built over generations must be cherished and preserved, as it can easily be destroyed if not properly maintained.Meanwhile, the consecutive incidents of KK Mart convenience stores being targeted with petrol bombs across the country indicate rash and immature responses, which could lead to a chain reaction and unnecessary violence. A spark can ignite a wildfire, and we hope that this incident serves as a lesson for all to always maintain composure and refrain from taking extremist actions,” Ting added.

EExpressing appreciation and concern shown by His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong regarding the KK Mart controversy, instructing all parties to refrain from exploiting the situation and instead leave it to the authorities to handle according to the law, in order to maintain harmony among the various ethnic groups in the country, Ting agreed with His Majesty’s view that society should learn from this and strive to strengthen unity, as prolonged anger benefits no one.

Therefore, he hoped that this incident could be concluded, restoring peace and tranquility to society, and allowing us to focus on the nation’s development agenda, particularly in Sarawak.

Sarawak United Peoples’ Party expressed shocked over the incident of KK Mart convenience store in Satok, Sarawak being targeted with petrol bombs, and urged the police to thoroughly investigate this case and apprehend the culprits to maintain social peace and order.
