However, the school still owes about RM3 million for construction and additional teaching facilities.

After the efforts of Deputy Premier and Minister of Public Health, Housing and Local Government Datuk Amar Sim Kui Hian, the Sarawak government allocated RM2.8 million to help solve the funding shortage problem of SJK (C) Kai Nang. The Sarawak government has earlier allocated RM3.9 million to the school for construction funding.

Sim Kui Hian handed over the allocation check to Datuk Jonathan Chai, at the SJK (C) Kai Nang Relocation and Reconstruction Fund Fundraising Dinner last night.

In addition, Sim kui Hian revealed that he will discuss with members of the school affairs unit in Sarawak in the near future and report the Smart Classroom project in Sarawak Chinese primary schools to Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.

” About 1,000 classrooms in Chinese primary schools in Sarawak do not have smart teaching facilities. We hope to help all Chinese primary schools implement the smart classroom plan within 3 to 4 years.”

He thanked everyone for their understanding because the Sarawak government was unable to allocate funds to help all 223 Chinese primary schools at the same time. Some Chinese primary schools in rural areas had dilapidated classrooms and needed priority in receiving funding assistance. He said that in the past four years, the Sarawak government has allocated at least RM40 million in funding for Chinese primary schools.

He emphasized that Chinese education and Chinese communities are part of the development and construction of Sarawak, and the Sarawak government will definitely continue to help the development of Chinese education. Abang Johari fully supports independent secondary schools and Chinese primary schools in the hope that children of all races, including Chinese, can contribute to the development of Sarawak.

“Chinese education has been here for several generations and has achieved countless achievements. It depends on the Chinese community’s strong support for Chinese education. Similarly, without Chinese education, there would be no achievements of the Chinese community today, ” he added.

The Sarawak government assisted to allocate RM2.8 million to SJK (C) Kai Nang to help the school complete its historic inter-provincial relocation plan.
