SUPP Youth Chairman, Tan Kai made it cleared that as a Sarawakian, there is no denying his love for Sarawak and he is against the idea of UMNO entry into the state and very much against the racial politic that is trailing and gaining momentum in West Malaysia.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that DAP has voiced their opinions that UMNO is a racist political party and has expressed their concern of UMNO’s influence in the State. “I too wanted to know what is their stand on the radical PAS which is also a dominant party in their Pakatan alliance? On one hand, they rejected UMNO but on the other hand, they embraced PAS who is bringing their religious extremism to Sarawak.<\/p>\n

Sarawak is a place where we should have our own local party, not the West Malaysian, he added.<\/p>\n

Tan Kai said for many decades, even though Sarawakian have evaluated the performance of the state Barisan Nasional government differently, some good and some bad, at least under the state Barisan, the federal government has always recognised and respected the autonomy and special status enjoyed by our state, unlike DAP where a politician from Malacca could become the Chief Minister of the state of Penang.<\/p>\n

“If DAP is to become the ruling party of our country one day, what are the possibilities that we Sarawakian will one day be ruled by the West Malaysian politicians? What if the extreme and racial\/religious politics could slowly creep in to the state of Sarawak because of DAP and PAS political alliance? That would be a real nightmare for us, Sarawakian,” he lamented.<\/p>\n

Stating that DAP State Assemblymen were also his YBs, Tan Kai said the people hoped to see the DAP fight for people\u2019s rights in the State Legislature Sittings to convey to the government the important issues of the people. The DAP YBs , he stated, must be there to supervise government policies and more importantly, they need to earn the respect and recognition from others in order to be influential. A solemn place such as the State Legislature Hall is not a place for them to discuss personal matters nor is it a place for their tireless name calling games.<\/p>\n

Tan Kai said despite urban Chinese voters voting for the DAP, the party instead is shifting its focus and attention to the sub-urban and rural areas, eager to render their services to the voters in those constituencies, despite the numerous issues yet to be solved in their respective constituencies in the urban areas. Some urban voters even feel that such irresponsible act has severely diverged from their original course which drove them to vote for their candidates.<\/p>\n

DAP state assemblymen and assemblywomen have just received a whopping 300% raise in their salary, which should be sufficient for their daily expenses and yet, there seems to be no end to their so called fund raising dinners or public events, which more often than not, put the public who attended their functions under awkward and embarrassing situation. It is therefore not that difficult to understand why the attendance of some of their public events lately has been less than ideal.<\/p>\n
