Lutong Beach Front (Pantai Lutong) is one of the recent popular spots frequently patronized by the locals. However, he is saddened that the beach front is being littered with odds and ends, bits of papers, discarded wrappings, bottles, unfinished food, face-masks and etc. The extent of the indiscriminate throwing of refuse has smeared the beautiful outlook of the beach front and this has drawn the concern of the beach goers as well as Netizens who have expressed their frustration in the social media platforms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
On the same subject, the Mayor notes that Miri City is not short of civic minded people as there are many volunteers with their own initiatives have carried out cleaning and clearing of litter lying along the beach fronts. He was informed by the nearby residents that the latest cleaning was carried out by a group of volunteers yesterday. In this connection, he would like to express his appreciation for their initiatives and this is a commendable effort in bringing up public awareness among the people to look after the cleanliness at beach fronts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Mayor would like to urge the visitors to the beach fronts to give their co- operation for the sake of the cleanliness in the beach areas by keeping the litter and dispose off at an appropriate place after the visit instead of throwing or leaving behind the rubbish in the public place.
