SUPP Senator Datuk Dr. Sim Kui Hian who is the Chairman of SUPP Pending said the party will survive as they have been picking up the broken pieces after the Registrar of Society (ROS) accepted their explanation on April 30.<\/p>\n

At the Pending 30th anniversary cum the Party\u2019s 55th anniversary, Sim said he was pleased that the most difficult part of the party’s problem is long gone and those who had betrayed the party had been expelled thus leaving them a united one to continue on the journey.<\/p>\n

The party, he said was formed 55 years ago to service the people and to help the less fortunate. He said members should never forget what started them off and they should focus their energy to it.<\/p>\n

“To be in this party is not about getting position, getting a councilor or a Penghulu or Kapitan but to service the people 24\/7 days and to gain back the trust and confidence of the people by working hard for them. We must show them that we will not fail them and they will continue supporting us,” he added.<\/p>\n

Sim said he was glad to see members from all branches all over Sarawak to celebrate with them the joyous occasion.<\/p>\n

Asking the members to throw their support behind the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Adenan Satem, Sim said the Chief Minister’s way of doing things is for the people and has been very supportive of the party.<\/p>\n

Sim also announced that on August 8, SUPP will hold\u00a0its 55th anniversary dinner where component parties from PBB, SPDP, PRS, MCA, Gerakan, LDP and other component party leaders will join. The occasion is expected to be graced by the Chief Minister, Tan Sri Adenan Satem.<\/p>\n

Earlier on, in his opening speech, Organising Chairman, Milton Foo said the party has gone through 55 years and the members has seen the good and bad days. “Most importantly, we have a group of comrades who stay with the party with their utmost loyalty, love and sacrifices. Because of this, we are here able to celebrate together\u00a0and witnessing our party’s 55 Anniversary tonight, a historical moment if I may say,” he said.<\/p>\n

Foo pointed out that for the past few years, the party \u00a0have been talking about reformation and moving forward. Unfortunately, due to different factions they have failed to do so but since the ROS had cleared them, they had come back to start all over again, which is a positive sign.<\/p>\n

Condemning \u00a0those who try to destroy party’s unity and those who humiliated the party, Foo said the youth supported the party president’s uncompromising stand of SUPP 19 state seats. He hoped that party central will give the young generation a chance to learn and performed their duties and to forgive them if they made mistakes.<\/p>\n
