{"id":26709,"date":"2020-08-13T11:56:00","date_gmt":"2020-08-13T03:56:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=26709"},"modified":"2020-08-13T23:26:11","modified_gmt":"2020-08-13T15:26:11","slug":"dismissed-individuals-seek-help","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=26709","title":{"rendered":"Dismissed individuals seek help"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Eight individuals seek the assistance of SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (PCB) Chief, Wilfred Yap&nbsp;for legal advice after thry claimed they were dismissed unfairly.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The eight were employed as teachers in a tuition school seek for reasonable compensation which they are legally entitled to after they were dismissed by their employer as they said they were terminated on short notice during the Covid-19 Movement Control Order (MCO) period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Yap have on behalf of the eight individuals requested the Labour Department to carry out and conduct proper investigation into the complaints of the 8 and their assistance in ensuring that the legal rights to adequate compensation (retrenchment benefits) under current law is paid to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He advised employees facing unreasonable dismissal or retrenchment to lodge a complaint with the Sarawak Labour Department, 7<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;&#8211; 8<sup>th<\/sup>&nbsp;Floors, Bangunan KWSP, Jalan Upland, Simpang Tiga, Kuching.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;Any employee who feels that they are not fairly treated or if they feel their termination is not fairly done can personally go to the Sarawak Labour Department and where necessary, their case would be referred to the Labour Court or Industrial Court by the Department.
