{"id":2625,"date":"2014-06-15T09:49:53","date_gmt":"2014-06-15T01:49:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=2625"},"modified":"2014-06-15T19:45:09","modified_gmt":"2014-06-15T11:45:09","slug":"tan-sri-masing-on-teras","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=2625","title":{"rendered":"Tan Sri Masing on Teras"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>President of Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) President, Tan Sri James Masing\u00a0affirmed that\u00a0Parti Tenaga Rakyat Sarawak (Teras) will not be able to make it into the fold of the Barisan Nasional(BN) as BN will continue to be strong without accepting Teras.<\/p>\n<p>Stressing this point when speaking to reporters last night at the Gawai celebration of PRS\u00a0 Secretary General, Datuk Wilfred Nissom\u2019s residence, Masing said not only his party will disallow Teras to join BN but he knew for sure, Sarawak Progressive Democratic party (SPDP) and Sarawak United People\u2019s Party (SUPP) too will never allow it to even step a foot in.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhy BN remain strong is because we have rules to guide us. We have the principles and we know that we cannot break that rule for a few person\u2019s interest. You break the rule, you break up the strength of BN,\u201d said Masing.<\/p>\n<p>The rules of the BN constitution said that if anyone, just one of the 14 coalition party disagreed with Teras joining, it is game over for them, he added.<\/p>\n<p>Masing said if once Teras were to be accepted into BN, it will be a \u2018free for all\u201d for\u00a0the BN members. \u201cWhat if my own party members disagreed with me on some issues and then get out to form a new party claiming itself to be a BN friendly party? \u00a0It will be an endless battle for BN to contain once a precedent has been set,\u201d he pointed out.<\/p>\n<p>Saying that he would never agreed to it based on principle, Masing added that there must be a unanimous agreement on the matter. \u201cTo me, by getting back to the basic principle of the party constitution and follow it, BN will not be weakened,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n<p>Former President of SPDP, Tan Sri William Mawan with the group of G4, Datuk Slyvester Entri (Marudi), Datuk Peter Nansian (Tasik Biru), Rosey Yunus (Bekenu), Paulus Palu Gumbang (Natu Danau) and former Sibu SUPP chairman, Dato\u2019 Seri Wong Soon koh (Bawan Assan) who led three of the SUPP state assemblymen away, formed Teras.
