{"id":26083,"date":"2020-05-05T09:46:00","date_gmt":"2020-05-05T01:46:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=26083"},"modified":"2020-05-05T21:52:26","modified_gmt":"2020-05-05T13:52:26","slug":"new-flights-arrangement-between-east-and-west-malaysia-lee-khim-shin","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=26083","title":{"rendered":"New flights arrangement between East and West Malaysia, Lee Khim Shin"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The flight schedules that had been agreed starting May 2 included Kuala Lumpur \u2013 Kuching: 4 times weekly, Kuala Lumpur \u2013 Bintulu: 1 time weekly, Kuala Lumpur \u2013 Miri: 2 times weekly and Kuala Lumpur \u2013 Sibu: 1 time weekly (only permitted to operate starting 16th May 2020), said Minister for Transport, Datuk Lee Kim Shin.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lee said he has personally contacted Minister for Transport, Malaysia to convey the decision of the State Disaster Management Committee to limit the frequency of flights from Kuala Lumpur to Sarawak. The matter was deliberated in Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Peringkat Menteri Persekutuan Pelaksanaan Perintah Kawalan Pergerakan on 30th April 2020 which agreed to our request to limit the number of flights from Kuala Lumpur to Sarawak.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lee added that the decision of the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) to reduce the number of inbound flights to Sarawak with hundreds of passengers per flight is to ascertain that there are enough rooms at designated quarantine centres in the State. This includes the availability of hotel rooms to cater for the incoming passengers at any time.
