Not only that, SUPP Central Youth is also resolute in its grounds to reject any tabling of private bills or motions of such nature. This is due to the fact that Malaysia is a multi-racial country whereby a large portion of its population is made up of various ethnic groups who are non-Muslims, such as the Chinese, Indian and non-Muslim Bumiputras in Sabah and Sarawak including Ibans, Bidayuhs, Orang Ulus, Kadazan-Dusuns, Kedayans and many more.

Given Malaysia’s social structure, implementation of Hudud law will lead to more conflicts and disputes between races as well as to the legal system in the country. This can bring negative impacts to national unity and create more social unrests. We should not forget that under the Federal Constitution, which was formulated by the founding fathers of this nation, the rights and freedom to practice our own religions are protected.

SUPP Central Youth shall not compromise when it comes to defending the religious rights and freedom of our people. Therefore, we object any attempt to table private bills or pass motions that can lead to the implementation of Hudud law in Malaysia, be it from the Barisan or Pakatan.

However, SUPP Central Youth is grateful when Selangor opposition leader Datuk Mohd Shamsudin Lias said Selangor BN had decided to withdraw the motion to debate the possibility to implement Hudud law in that state. This is the 3 Cs (Consultation, Compromise and Consensus) that Barisan government has been promoting and advocating all the while.

On the contrary, in Pakatan Rakyat ruling states, where PAS rules supreme and DAP has no say, policies are carried out and implemented without much consultation or listening to the Rakyats first. This is proven when Selangor’s Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim of PKR persisted with the controversial Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (KIDEX) project despite strong objections from many people while PAS is still determined to table the Hudud bill in September. It was merely postponed so that it would not become a liability to DAP’s candidate in the Teluk Intan by-election. Unlike Barisan Nasional, there is no such thing as 3 Cs in Pakatan coalition. What worries the fellow Malaysian more is, DAP seems utterly incapable of turning the table around whenever these decisions were made by the party’s so-called ‘allies’, namely PAS and PKR.

SUPP Central Youth’s stand against the implementation of Hudud law in Malaysia remains firm and unshaken.
