SUPP Public Complaints Bureau (SUPP PCB),\u00a0 Wilfred Yap is frequently\u00a0 approached by the residents staying in the vicinity of 7th<\/sup>\u00a0Mile and business community of Kota Sentosa commercial area during his regular \u201cturun padang\u201d activity to the area.<\/p>\n

During one of the visits recently, the residents and business community had complained to\u00a0 him of the traffic congestion of the traffic during peak hours at the T junction of Lorong 3,\u00a0 Jalan Stakan as it is used by the public as a by-pass to avoid the traffic congestion at Kota Sentosa commercial area during peak hours. The matter was immediately brought to the attention of the Engineering Department of\u00a0Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) by\u00a0 Wilfred Yap who is also the SUPP Kota Sentosa Branch Chairman.<\/p>\n

After the matter was\u00a0brought up to the attention of\u00a0 MPP Engineering Department, the Sarawak GPS Government had approved the funding for the upgrading of the T junction with MPP as the implementing agency. The contract for the improvement and upgrading works for the construction works at the T-junction at Lorong 3, Jalan Stakan\u00a0 have been awarded to a local contractor through open tender by MPP. The contract sum for the improvement and upgrading works is approximately RM325,000 and construction works have commenced.<\/p>\n

Yap said he will continue to follow up and monitor the situation closely until the upgrading works of the T junction at Lorong 3, Jalan Stakan is properly completed to the satisfaction and benefit of all affected parties.<\/p>\n

He added that he and SUPP members of 7th<\/sup>\u00a0Mile Sub Branch shall also continue to serve as the eyes and ears of the community living there to ensure that the infrastructure facilities in the Kota Sentosa area are constantly upgraded and maintained properly for the benefit of the community living there. Wilfred Yap will also continue to highlight and try to resolve issues of public interest affecting the public.<\/p>\n
