KUCHING: The rugby teams of SMK Agama Sheikh Haji Othman Abdul\u00a0Wahab\u00a0(SHOAW) proved their supremacy when the La Salle Brothers Memorial Cup 7s U16 tournament held at Song\u00a0Kheng\u00a0Hai\u00a0Field last Saturday saw both its seniors (U16) and juniors (U15) locked horns in the Cup final.<\/p>\n
Their duel on a slightly wet pitch saw the seniors whitewashed the juniors 52-0 to clinch the Cup Championship.\u00a0The seniors play was all the more enlivened, with the appearance\u00a0of two NRDP Malaysia U16 Selection Squad in the persons of\u00a0Saiful\u00a0Daniel\u00a0Mohd\u00a0Khairi\u00a0

The La Salle Brothers Memorial 7s was jointly organised by Sarawak Rugby Union (SRU) and Kuching Football Rugby Club (KRFC), to replace the Brother Columba Memorial Cup 7s in remembrance of the legendary Brothers Charles,\u00a0Henry,\u00a0Hilary, Hyacinth, Mark, John, Albinus, Adrian and Columba who were highly hailed as significant promoters of rugby during the four decades of 1950s to 1980s.<\/p>\n
Minister of Local Government and Housing\u00a0Datuk\u00a0Professor Dr\u00a0Sim\u00a0Kui\u00a0HIan\u00a0gave away the main prizes,\u00a0witnessed by SRU President Richard Song\u00a0Swee\u00a0Jin,\u00a0SRU Honorary Secretary Abdul\u00a0Ghafar\u00a0Arshad,\u00a0SRU Treasurer Lawrence Tan, KRFC President\u00a0Yusop\u00a0Shah\u00a0Mokhsen, Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) Development Division Manager Ahmad\u00a0Rodzi\u00a0Hashim\u00a0who represented SSC CEO Dr\u00a0Ong\u00a0Kong\u00a0Swee.<\/p>\n
