SUPP Woman Chief, Kho Teck Wan expressed her disappointment at the way Woman, Family and Community Development, Deputy Minister, Hannah Yeoh\u00a0had asked Sarawakian to do away with Sarawak sentiment recently.<\/p>\n

Calling her lack of understanding in Sarawak\u2019s\u00a0 issues a disaster,SUPP\u00a0Wanita Chief Kho Teck Wan\u00a0 urged Yeoh to look into the discrimination\u00a0of Malaysia history in primary school text book, the discrimination of\u00a0equal status as one of the three partners in the Federation of\u00a0Malaysia including the discrimination of oil and gas.<\/p>\n

She was also unhappy that Yeoh claimed that Sarawak has 7 times more\u00a0reserve in the bank than Selangor and should not depends entirely on\u00a0Federal Government to develop education, especially the early\u00a0childhood education.<\/p>\n

\u201cHer first statement on Sarawak for Sarawakian sentiment showed her\u00a0lack of understanding toward Sarawak\u2019s history and politics. If YB.\u00a0Hannah is sincerely worried about the Sarawak for Sarawakian\u2019s\u00a0sentiment on further discriminating Malaysian regionally, then perhaps\u00a0YB should take time to find out the source of such sentiment. Sarawak\u00a0for Sarawakian is an awareness movement, where Sarawakians learn and\u00a0fight for Sarawak\u2019s rights enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963.\u00a0There is nothing wrong in fighting for what was ours. Let\u2019s start\u00a0building as a nation by honouring the Malaysia Agreement 1963. After\u00a0all, there is no Malaysia without the agreement, and there is no\u00a0Malaysia without Sarawak.\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Kho reminded the minister that Education is under the responsible of\u00a0the federal government. Sarawakians paid federal taxes just like any\u00a0other states in Malaysia and expect the federal government to perform\u00a0its responsibility. \u201cSarawak should not be punished because the\u00a0government has better financial planning than Selangor. Sarawak\u00a0government even proposed RM1 billion loan to Federal Government this\u00a0year to upgrade the dilapidated schools in Sarawak. If federal\u00a0government is unable to manage the education, please expedite the\u00a0return of education autonomy to Sarawak as promised under the Pakatan\u00a0Harapan Sarawak\u2019s election manifesto.\u201d she added.<\/p>\n
