Batu Kitang State Assemblyman, Lo Khere Chiang introduced to\u00a0Sarawakians a list of colleges they can go for their tertiary education, especially \u00a0for those in the poorer income group.In a press conference at the Sarawak United peoples’ party (SUPP), Lo\u00a0said the Jelajah Pendidikan 2018 convoy will be taking its tour to\u00a0Sarawak for the first time ever where it will offer incredible\u00a0opportunities to all its citizens to further their studies in\u00a0the appropriate fields.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
This initiative will be targeted towards Sijil\u00a0Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) and Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) school \u00a0leavers for the year 2013 to 2017 who have somehow dropped out from\u00a0the formal education stream as well as the ones who have missed out on\u00a0earlier university placements.<\/div>\n

“They will be given the second chance to be put on a fast track to\u00a0further their studies and in turn, shape their generation into one\u00a0that it more educated and successful. This year, it is made even more\u00a0noteworthy as the program will be available to students of all races\u00a0in Sarawak.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

This special program, endorsed and championed by the Prime Minister,\u00a0is a unique effort to protect the livelihoods of the impoverished\u00a0urban and rural youths by assisting them to continue their studies in\u00a0both academic fields as well as vocational skills.<\/div>\n

Technical\u00a0institutions which will be participating in Jelajah Pendidikan in\u00a0Sarawak will present offer letters on the spot to any Sarawakian youth\u00a0who meet the minimum required conditions to further their studies.<\/div>\n
This program has combined 19 agencies from local public universities\u00a0and technical institutions to work together in realizing the\u00a0aspirations of the Barisan Nasional government,” he said.According to Dato\u2019 Mohd Aizuddin Mohd Ghazali, the Chief Secretary of\u00a0Jelajah Pendidikan, this initiative will take place at three primary\u00a0locations in Sarawak, mainly Petrajaya, Stampin and Miri, as\u00a0they are well known to have a large population. This will make it\u00a0convenient for the students to be present at the set locations. He\u00a0also pointed out that all the citizens in the general vicinity should\u00a0be present at this event to capitalize on this golden opportunity for\u00a0the future of these students.<\/p>\n

The convoy will be holding a series of events at several locations\u00a0around Sarawak. It begins in MJC Batu Kawa Setampin\u00a0on 29 April<\/a>\u00a0while\u00a0their final two locations for the program will be in Dewan Hikmah\u00a0Petrajaya\u00a0on 30 April<\/a>\u00a0and the Stadium Tertutup Miri\u00a0on 1 May.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
