We refer to the statement\u00a0by\u00a0West\u00a0Malaysia\u00a0based DAP Sarawak\u00a0leader,\u00a0Chong\u00a0Chieng\u00a0Jen on the issue of the \u00a0parcel of land opposite the MJC\u00a0along Jalan\u00a0Batu Kawa.<\/p>\n
1.\u00a0SUPP has had opposed corruption of any form as\u00a0well as \u00a0nepotism.\u00a0She supports all anti-corruption exercises.\u00a0SUPP\u2019s stand\u00a0on these subjects \u00a0had never\u00a0changed. It would remain the same in the future.<\/p>\n
2.\u00a0On matter of public interests, SUPP maintains the practise of fair and just, and\u00a0transparency, without any malpractice. This is the stand and\u00a0principle\u00a0observes by\u00a0SUPP.<\/p>\n
One\u00a0such example\u00a0is the\u00a0tender over the\u00a0RM333 million\u00a0phase I\u00a0sewage service\u00a0plant\u00a0in Miri.\u00a0The Minister\u00a0for\u00a0Local Government\u00a0Dr. Sim Kui Hian had insisted\u00a0that\u00a0the\u00a0project must\u00a0be carried out by public tender. SUPP needs \u00a0more state\u00a0assembly seats and\u00a0holds important portfolios.<\/p>\n
3.\u00a0With reference to the allegation by Mr. Chong on the sale of that parcel of land at MJC \u00a0at a much lower price, we challenge him to\u00a0take legal actions to stop such deal\u00a0if he holds \u00a0concrete evidences, rather than\u00a0shouting\u00a0in the \u00a0newspapers. Mr. Chong is a known lawyer, he\u00a0should know the legal procedures over the issue.<\/p>\n
4.\u00a0Mr. Chong claimed that the\u00a0transaction\u00a0of the MJC parcel of land\u00a0was done after Dr. Sim Kui Hian had been elected the state assemblyman for\u00a0Batu Kawah\u00a0constituency.\u00a0This is in fact a real confrontation, a very rude\u00a0allegation. It seems that \u00a0Dr. Chong\u00a0is jealous \u00a0over the election of Dr. Sim that he\u00a0puts all\u00a0the\u00a0blames over the \u00a0head of Dr. Sim.<\/p>\n
Not long ago, Mr. Chong had blamed Dr. Sim for the closing of the MJC\u00a0Maybank Branch. However, the bank also closed its Pending Branch. Why Mr. Chong kept quiet and never blamed Violet Yong for that?<\/p>\n
Mr. Chong is playing double standard over the same issues\u00a0turning\u00a0himself \u00a0into\u00a0an\u00a0unqualified State Assemblyman.<\/p>\n
5.\u00a0In fact Mr. Chong had earlier questioning the \u00a0parcel of land opposite the BDC\u00a0commercial centre. He should know that\u00a0the parcel of land lies within the Kota Sentosa Constituency where Mr.\u00a0Chong is the State Assemblyman,\u00a0also within\u00a0the\u00a0DAP \u00a0Stampin MP\u2019s constituency.<\/p>\n
The DAP had claimed \u00a0to represent the\u00a0interests of the people. If the \u00a0land deals as\u00a0alleged by Mr. Chong\u00a0were true,\u00a0then, Mr. Chong and Mr.Tan\u00a0should step down for\u00a0failure in performing their duties. They should not continue to be paid by the people without performing efficient duties: just talk without actions\u00a0is not enough.<\/p>\n
6.\u00a0The land issues\u00a0in Sarawak\u00a0were\u00a0under the \u00a0jurisdiction of a specific \u00a0State Minister. \u00a0We fail to\u00a0understand why Mr. Chong dares not to point his fingers at the said Minister.\u00a0This leads people to \u00a0suspect\u00a0that there may exist certain \u00a0secret arrangement between them,\u00a0or that Mr. Chong is afraid to\u00a0question PBB? He therefore\u00a0plays against the Chinese, making SUPP the\u00a0scapegoat.<\/p>\n
7.\u00a0In Penang, the DAP Chief \u00a0Minister cum DAP Secretary General \u00a0had sold the parcel of\u00a0102 acres of land at Bayan Mutiara at RM204 per square feet to a private developer,\u00a0while the current price \u00a0in the area is now\u00a0at\u00a0RM420 per sq.ft.<\/p>\n
However, Mr. Chong had kept\u00a0mum\u00a0and never called a press conference to question the \u00a0dealing of the Penang\u00a0DAP State Government\u00a0.Why he never questions\u00a0the\u00a0low price deals by the Penang DAP Government?<\/p>\n
In fact,\u00a0Mr. Chong\u00a0has done his best to cover up the malpractices of his West Malaysia chiefs,\u00a0and keeps quiet over \u00a0issues,\u00a0including Lim Guan Eng\u2019s\u00a0purchase \u00a0of a luxurious bungalow\u00a0at a\u00a0low \u00a0price, reclamation\u00a0of \u00a0land, hiking of water tariff\u00a0and others.
