{"id":17002,"date":"2017-04-28T18:28:49","date_gmt":"2017-04-28T10:28:49","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=17002"},"modified":"2017-04-28T19:43:29","modified_gmt":"2017-04-28T11:43:29","slug":"allocation-for-flood-mitigation-projects-for-batu-kitang-and-batu-kawah","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=17002","title":{"rendered":"Allocation for flood mitigation projects for Batu Kitang and Batu Kawah"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has been allocated RM30 million for flood mitigation projects.<\/p>\n<p>Chairman of the Council, Lo Khere Chiang said the amount was approved by the Ministry of Local Government under Datuk Dr Sim Kui Hian.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the projects will be carried out in major areas like Batu Kitang and Batu Kawah,\u201d he told reporters yesterday after chairing a full council meeting.<\/p>\n<p>Lo, who is Batu Kitang assemblyman, said Padawan flyover projects would be carried out as scheduled at Kuching Sentral and Mile 4 1\/2 in August.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, he said the council has received a letter of appreciation from the Ministry of Welfare, Women and Community Wellbeing acknowledging MPP\u2019s efforts in helping to carry out the 1Azam programme.<\/p>\n<p>He said MPP currently runs the programme in three categories \u2013 kiosk, grass cutting and retail shops \u2013 in villages involving 11 participants.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe letter means a lot to us and will motivate us,\u201d he said, adding that the programme will continue this year.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) has been allocated RM30 million for flood mitigation projects.
