State Assemblyman for Batu Kitang, Lo\u00a0Khere Chiang said i t ‘ s very touching and heartening to see so many people from\u00a0different backgrounds and beliefs coming together as one big family,\u00a0pouring so many sentimental messages and tributes and paying last\u00a0respect to this one man.<\/p>\n

Lo who is also the Chairman of Padawan Municipal Council recalled his\u00a0own memory of the late Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan\u00a0Satem who passed\u00a0on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n

“It is difficult to find the perfect word to describe the worthiness\u00a0of Adenan. I am not good in expressing my emotions but like many\u00a0amongst us, I have shed more than a tear for our humble hero, Adenan.<\/p>\n

I remember this one\u00a0Saturday morning. It was before the last state\u00a0election. I felt that what i had to ask for was very important. I\u00a0arrived at Adenan’s house. It was\u00a07:30am. Puan Sri Jamilah allowed me\u00a0to see Adenan and I \u00a0remember walking up the stairs. There he was, at\u00a0the top of the stairs, still in his sarong. I suddenly felt guilty for\u00a0coming so early in the morning,” he said.<\/p>\n

Lo who appeared emotional continued that the late CM ushered him\u00a0to say his piece. Despite him having a grim looking face, his voice\u00a0was kind and he was full of ears for what I have to say.<\/p>\n

He then told Adenan about a park in Batu Kawa and less than a month\u00a0later, to my delight,\u00a0 I received a letter through the council where\u00a0Lands and survey\u00a0 approved this 46 acres of prime land to MPP for the\u00a0purpose of a park. “I am now even more determined to protect this\u00a0piece land and to develop it into a park, just like what Adenan would\u00a0have envisage,” he vowed.<\/p>\n

To\u00a0 Datin Sri Jamilah, Lo said, there is no better way Adenan could\u00a0have exited his life on earth. “He came roaring like a tiger and left\u00a0gracefully\u00a0 like an angel. He showed us the Adenan Way and left behind\u00a0a legacy and a challenging task for his predecessor to inherit. The\u00a0honour and\u00a0the tributes he received, via Facebook, whats apps\u00a0and any media you can find. Datin Sri Jamilah, you will be sad by such\u00a0a great loss. We all are but be consoled by such tremendous amount of\u00a0tributes and honour given to Adenan, the messages, poems, video clips\u00a0and pictures posted from all walks of the community. There is an old\u00a0saying:\u00a0We only know how good a leader is after he dies and not while he\u00a0lives.<\/p>\n

Adenan, he was my greatest teacher and he has reminded me time\u00a0and again to work hard in order to gain the trust and the love of our\u00a0people. Adenan, I will devote\u00a0 my political career to continue your\u00a0dreams. I will train and mobilise the rakyat of Batu Kitang as my\u00a0pivotal strength to continue your struggle to bring about a better\u00a0sarawak for all our communities.<\/p>\n

To Datin Sri Jamilah and family, i wish you all well and i am sure\u00a0Adenan is beaming down on us in Heaven, contented with his\u00a0achievements on earth,” he added.<\/p>\n
