Regarding the lifts replacement issue at SGH recently raised by YB\u00a0Chong, which is “laughable thing” according to him, SUPP youth central\u00a0publicity chief Milton Foo would like YB Chong to do his homework\u00a0right before he laughs.<\/p>\n
1. I have raised this issue through my press conference on 13.05.2016\u00a0that 3 out 6 lifts at the main block of SGH had broken down and the 3\u00a0working lifts are too old to sustain the heavy workloads.<\/p>\n
2. Following my press conference, YB Dr Sim has not only managed to\u00a0secure the funds for the total replacement of the 6 lifts at the main\u00a0block but also helped to expedite the papers work required.<\/p>\n
3. Furthermore, YB Dr Sim has also expedited the replacement progress\u00a0of the 2 broken lifts at the Cancer Block at SGH which could only take\u00a0stages to complete instead of 2 or 3 months alleged by YB Chong as\u00a0explained succinctly by SGH Director through his press statement\u00a0today.<\/p>\n
4. The reason why the replacement work requires longer time &\u00a0progressive stages is because it can only be carried out at the\u00a0restricted hours\u00a0from 5pm – 8pm\u00a0daily, in order not to cause nuisance\u00a0and disturbance to the patients. This also shows YB Chong has no\u00a0compassion to the patients.<\/p>\n
5. The first lifts replacement at the Cancer Block has started in\u00a0November 2016 which is nearly completed by now and is scheduled for\u00a0full operation by the end of December 2016. The work for second lift\u00a0replacement will start soon after that.<\/p>\n
6. As regards the 6 lifts at Main Block of SGH, through YB Dr Sim’s\u00a0vigorous effort, letter of appointment to replace the 6 lifts (3\u00a0broken and 3 obsolete) has been given to the contractor on 30.11.2016\u00a0& the same is scheduled to complete by 2018 through 2 lifts\u00a0replacement at one time in order not to affect & minimize the\u00a0inconvenience caused to the public.<\/p>\n
7. YB Chong should do his homework instead of criticizing Dr. Sim for\u00a0his cheap publicity. If he is sincere & cares for the public, he would\u00a0have fought for the expedition of the lifts replacement at SGH\u00a0together with YB Dr. Sim at federal level for the best interests of\u00a0Sarawak people.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
