In 1957 a group of about 15 students sat on a long bench and a table unevenly cut from left over wooden plank to learn what they could as they squeezed in a godown at Chang Chin Ann Road.<\/p>\n

Chung Hua No 3 then was just a branch of Chung Hua school and a successful businessman, Keuh Siak Hong was kind to let the association use his godown which would be turned into classroom in the morning.<\/p>\n

After a few years parking at the godown, the group of students which grew in numbers was then moved to a wooden block of school in Jalan Mendu (now the present site for primary school Chung Hua No 5).<\/p>\n

In 1963, Keuh, a philanthropist went a step further. He donated 4 acres of his land to build Chung Hua No 3 and today, the school sits proudly on the big area with their own school blocks, teacher\u2019s office, assemblyhall which was also used for badminton court, hostels, library, vocational block and a big basketball field. The school has 380 students.<\/p>\n

Chairman of the Committee of Management of Chung Hua Middle School No 1,3 and 4, Richard Wee has voiced his plan to relocate the Chung Hua Middle school No 3 to another site probably to the sub-urban area as the present site was to be turned into a commercial centre.<\/p>\n

Wee said the decision to do so is a long term plan for the school to improve its intake and also to churn out plans to be self sufficient in running the three Independent schools.<\/p>\n

The current site was to build around 40 commercial shophouses of which half would go to the School and the Committee Management who would collect rental out of it which Wee said would help a lot in the running of the school as costs keeps going up.<\/p>\n

He said the new site of the school would be relocated at Mile 7 and they would want to build a proper school with a good hostel to cater not only local students but outstation ones. He said even local students could stay at the hostel and return at the weekend.<\/p>\n

The whole purpose, he said was to ease the traffic jam in the area as Chung Hua Middle School No 1 was just behind No. 3.<\/p>\n

Wee hoped that the proposal would take effect to ease the finance of the Independent schools which they had relied heavily on the good will of members of the public.<\/p>\n
