President of SUPP Tan Sri Peter Chin is a happy man today after meeting with the newly sworn in Chief Minister, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Adenan Satem where he spend more than a hour with his Central Working committee members.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press after the meeting with Adenan together with Housing Minister, PBB Deputy President Datuk Amar Abang Johari and Vice President Datuk Amar Awang Tengah, Chin said he was more than happy when the Chief Minister said, \u201cWe must save SUPP. As President, I am happy with the words uttered by the Chief Minister,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Plagued with internal problems since 2011 of which Sibu SUPP Chairman, Dato\u2019 Sri Wong Soon Koh boycotted the 2011 Triennial Delegates conference, Chin who had been struggling to keep the ship going said the word \u201cSaved\u201d by Chief Minister has two aspects, Registration with Registrar of Society and the political survival of the party for future as the state election might be around in two years\u2019 time.<\/p>\n

Asked if it mean that the party will not be de-registered, Chin said it is up to the press to interpret.<\/p>\n

He said during the meeting, the SUPP central committee members were given the chance to explain to the Chief Minister on the background of what has happened since 2011 and why the branches of Bekenu and Piasau were de-registered on February 6.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe discussion was very cordial and the Chief Minister allows the members to express their views and ask questions. We do not want to disclose what exactly was said,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

Chin said the party has to wait for the outcome of the appeal from the ROS.<\/p>\n

Asked when the former Chief Minister said \u201cIf SUPP could not reconcile, there would be another party for the Chinese, Chin said the former Chief Minister used the word, \u201cIf\u201d.<\/p>\n

There is always room to reconcile, he said even after 2011 after I become the President. \u201cIf there is a will, there is a way,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He said he did meet up with the Prime Minister and the Home Minister over the party issues recently which he preferred what was discussed to be kept confidential.<\/p>\n
