{"id":10397,"date":"2016-05-01T22:52:20","date_gmt":"2016-05-01T14:52:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=10397"},"modified":"2016-05-02T01:25:51","modified_gmt":"2016-05-01T17:25:51","slug":"supp-women-time-for-women-to-speak-out-for-their-rights","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.suppnewsportal.com\/main\/?p=10397","title":{"rendered":"SUPP women: Time for women to speak out for their rights"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Sarawak United Peoples\u2019 Party (SUPP), Woman chief, Datin Jennifer Chee with lawyers from SUPP, Jimmy Maja and Sim Kui Lian and woman section committee said the time has come for Sarawakian especially Sarawak United Peoples\u2019 Party (SUPP), Woman chief, Datin Jennifer Chee with lawyers from SUPP, Jimmy Maja and Sim Kui Lian and woman section committee said the time has come for Sarawakian especially women to speak out for their rights.<\/p>\n<p>Chee said they had establishing a woman and family affair legal bureau with the assistance of Ernest chua, Jimmy Maja,\u00a0 Milton Foo, Wilfred Yap, Sim Kui Lian and Su Chua Phin.<\/p>\n<p>We are fully supportive and wanted to fulfil CM Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Adenan Satem\u2019s call to proceed with he appealing and changing of laws that is unfavourable and deviation to woman and family.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the acts are discriminating to woman and we should do something to change it instead of complaining all the time, she added.<\/p>\n<p>Chee said should any of the SUPP candidates go into the State legislative Assembly, they would be able to fight for the rights more effectively.<\/p>\n<p>She gave an example that a couple had a daughter out of wedlock. And married later to have other children. Unfortunately for the first born child, the father, Tan Chiew Ho, a local and his Indonesian wife, Lily Isnah is now at their wit\u2019s end as they were unable to register their first born daughter, Jia Yin as a Malaysian despite many attempts made.<\/p>\n<p>Jimmy Maja, who is part of the panel lawyers said, the rejection was done by Putra Jaya and not by Sarawak.
